Mrs. Julie Bennett
My name is Julie Bennett and I have been an Assistant Teacher at HOPE Community Preschool since it opened in 2010. My family joined Mt. Carmel UMC in 2009. My husband, Scott, participates in the Praise Band and is a Lax Factory coach. Our son, Caleb, plays football and lacrosse at Linganore High School and plays for Lax Factory. Our daughter, Sierra, is a State Champion cheerleader from Linganore High School.
We moved here from North Carolina, where I was active in our church preschool. I was a substitute teacher in classrooms from nursery to K-prep and Chairman of the Preschool Board for 5 years and also the Interim Director for two months. During my last year in NC, I enjoyed being the Assistant Teacher in a 3-year-old classroom.
When we lived in Richmond, VA, I taught High School Chemistry for 5 years. I have a BA from the University of Virginia with a Major in Biology and a Minor in Chemistry. I also have a Master’s in Education from Virginia Tech with a Major in Curriculum and Instruction.
I enjoy going to Jazzercise most mornings. I don’t like cold weather. I love the beach. I lead a small women’s bible study group in my home each week. I am looking forward to teaching and sharing God's love with our community. May God bless you and your family each day!
