"The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not be in want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he restores my soul." Psalm 23:1-3
In the most familiar of scriptures we find again the cure to our uneasiness and worry. As the psalmist reminds us, "The Lord is our shepherd." We are never too lost to be found or too alone to experience God's company. Sometimes thou we feel lost, alone, confused, or broken. The psalm offers a gentle comfort. "Lie down in green pastures... be led beside still waters". Consider today the things which are causing you to be restless or filled with worry. Then find a quiet spot where the beauty of the Lord's natural world can be experienced. Offer your worries to the Lord and ask him to "restore your soul." Then be still and silent. Watch, wonder, wait, listen.... What do you see, what do you hear? What seems more important and less important?
The Lord is eager to restore us. May we be open today and each day to the gentle ways the shepherd leads us back to our peaceful center.
Enjoying the summer (and our studies),
