"Arriving at a quiet place, Jesus sat down and taught his climbing companions. This is what he said: You're blessed when you're at the end of your rope. With less of you there is more of God and his rule. You're blessed when you feel you've lost what is most dear to you. Only then can you be embraced by the One most dear to you." Matthew 5:1-3 THE MESSAGE

There are many things that lead us to the edge of health and sanity. A sick child, physical illness, job stress or job hunting, family situations can all cause us increased stress or worry. So many things push us to our limits and we wonder if we will ever find our way back to blessed peace. Powerfully the beatitudes offer us a surprising blessing. Even when we are at our wits end, even there, we can experience a blessing from God. It doesn't say, "Don't worry you will find your way back to being blessed." It says, "Blessed are you WHEN YOUR ARE at the end of your rope." Out there you can discover the One God who is more powerful and more peaceful than everything else in your life. God's love, God's salvation, God's peace, God's blessing will meet you THERE! However this day unfolds look for God and God's rule and invite the blessings to flow.
