This October Sam Balsam, a father, husband,
and Anne Arundel County Fire Fighter suffered a
stroke while on the job. Sam is striving for
increased mobility each day and we pray for his
healing and recovery. His wife Celeste, a
certified nursing assistant and Lancer cheer
coordinator, lost her job because of the demand
on her time to help with Sam's rehabilitation.
Those of you who are a part of the LOUYAA family
know their children Brittany as a "flyers" for
Lancer Cheer and Brandon from his speed on the
field. The Mt. Carmel and New Market UMC family
know Brittany and Brandon as a special part of
their youth group community. As this strong
family begins the New Year they face ongoing
rehabilitation for Sam and the financial stress
of lost income and medical bills. As their
community we have the opportunity to give them a
special blessing to "cheer them on" and relieve
a bit of stress.
New Market UMC is located at 5501 Old New Market
Rd New Market MD 21774 (One block off main
street across from the closed Mealies
Restaurant)
*A worship service with prayers for the family
will be held at 6:30pm you are very welcome to
join us!
The meal is sponsored by the Mt. Carmel/ New
Market Youth group and will include Spaghetti,
Salad, and Dessert. Come try our awesome sauce!
